The Surgery of 19th Century till Now
This topic came from the documentary that I watched before called Two Hundred Years of Surgery. The documentary mainly talked about the darkness and bloody process during the development of the medicine which shocked me a lot. In my project I would like to show how the modern medicine developed and lead to the aim of the project: how people confront the nature and death.

The first I would like to do the research both online and in the reality. First, it is important to review the documentary. With the combination of my situation, I chose the 19th century as the mainly part for the project. Then I decided to go to the science museum and the old operating theatre museum in London and draw the interesting objects with the sketches. The medicine gallery in science museum combined the modern medicine with the past surgery together and the old operating theatre museum could help me to develop more into the object.

In the BA courses I would like to go into the Pattern Cutting in Womenswear, so in this project I am going to focus more on the silhouette and design part. Despite the project I did in term 2, in the silhouette part I would like to use more calicos with different weight. To be more specific, I tried to get close to the feeling of the flow of different calicos and develop the calicos in different shapes on mannequin. In the design part, in the illustrations I would like to make them more conceptual in my design and more exaggerated in the performance after I got a positive reflection on a specific design, I made in term 2. Moreover, in the drawing part, besides watercolour, I would like to use different ways and material such as the colour pencil and ink.
The outcome of the projects I am going to arrange my stuffs more logically unlike I did in term 2. In these slides I am going to put more slides for the process of silhouette and design to show my ability in Pattern Cutting. Moreover, after the end of term 2, I realised that the text should be the assist function of my project, so I shall reduce the text in the slides instead of my research.
